In this discussion, Sally Banes and Yvonne Rainer piece together the history and progress of postmodern dance, from the early years of the Judson Dance Theater to the contemporary arts scene, and examine the powerful influence of dancers and choreographers in art and society. A question and answer session follows their discussion. This program was presented in conjunction with White Oak Dance Project's performances of PASTForward, a series celebrating the creative fervor of the revolutionary 1960s and 1970s at the Judson Dance Theater, a collective actively supported by the Walker in its early years.
